Slogan #35
Don't try to be the fastest.
Today’s image comes from “Frame by Frame” the National Ballet’s 2018 multidisciplinary tribute to filmmaker Norman McLaren. The art of noticing the spaces between the frames—in fact, the art of living in these in-between places is true for yoga and meditation as well. We learn to be present in the transitions between poses, breaths, and thoughts. Why? So that we can be present in the liminal spaces between actions, in that alive place of not knowing.
Notice your addiction to speed, to be the fastest, busiest and the requisite striving, urgency, and pressure that these feelings engender. Meditate on impatience and perfection and a scarcity mindset. How can you cultivate wisdom and compassion and an abundance mindset instead?
