Slogan #54

Train Wholeheartedly

Reflection

“You have to live in your own world. Don’t judge or compare yourself to what you see on social media.” “Running and exercising callouses the mind. I’m not training for a race, I’m training for life.”

David Goggins

David Goggins' words resonate deeply with Slogan #54: "Train wholeheartedly." His intense physical and mental training is about battling his own insecurities and ego, much like my own practice. While his path is intense and sometimes painful, it’s about creating a better relationship with oneself and feeling all human emotions fully. Training wholeheartedly isn’t just about physical endurance; it’s about mental resilience and emotional fortitude. This is what Lojong means to me. Since Pat introduced me to it in 2021, I’ve used these teachings to deepen my connection with myself.

“Train wholeheartedly” reminds me to give my all in every aspect of my practice—physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s about living authentically and cultivating a compassionate relationship with myself. This journey is lifelong, about continuously evolving and growing. By training wholeheartedly, I embrace life's challenges, becoming more resilient and compassionate.
