Slogan #39
All Activities Should Be Done with One Intention
Reflection from Yesterday:
Yesterday was the 39th day of reflecting on the Lojong slogans, and I missed posting for the blog. I was back home in the Beaches, Toronto, for our yearly concert with my beloved cousin Leroy. Despite knowing Slogan #39, my actions didn't fully align with its intention.
This slogan reminds us to ground every action in a clear purpose. But with all the joy of reconnecting with Leroy, enjoying the music, and soaking in the familiar surroundings, my focus was scattered. The day’s spontaneous chats and concert excitement pulled me away from mindful practice.
Reflecting today, I see how easy it is to lose sight of our intentions amid life’s fun and busy moments. Even during joyful times, staying mindful is essential. Missing the blog post reminded me of the bigger picture: aligning actions with the intention of benefiting others, even in busy, happy moments.
Yesterday’s experience in the Beaches, with the sound of waves and concert music, reminded me to bring mindfulness to everything I do. Moving forward, I want to let this intention guide me, turning vibrant moments into chances for compassion and awareness.
I’m grateful for the day with Leroy and our cherished traditions. By adding mindfulness to these moments, they become even more meaningful. Today, I recommit to letting my actions reflect the intention of benefiting others, creating a more compassionate and connected life.
