Slogan #47

Keep the three inseparable

Reflection

Am I practicing wholeheartedly? Does my practice feel balanced at this moment of my life? Lately, it has felt like I’ve been catching up, speeding through, and then finding moments of rest in between the everyday busyness. It’s sustainable most of the time, but without a daily schedule, I find my days passing me by. It is in these moments, in the same way, empty pages in my journal have become a marker of when it feels like I am not practicing or living balanced and wholeheartedly. When this imbalance occurs, the cravings, the desires, and the addictions win.

So, as this slogan says, “Keep the three inseparable,” I strive to embody this not just in my lojong practice but in my life. How do I do that tomorrow? How do I show up with my slogan in tow as a way to move forward? It means integrating my mind, body, and spirit in all aspects of my day, ensuring that my actions, thoughts, and emotions are aligned.

To practice wholeheartedly is to be present in each moment, to acknowledge when I am out of balance, and to gently steer myself back. It’s about making time for reflection, ensuring that my days are not just filled with activity but with meaningful practice. By keeping the three inseparable—teacher, teachings, and practice—I can create a life that is balanced, mindful, and intentional.
