Slogan #40

Correct all Wrongs with One Intention

Reflection:

As I settle into a headstand, everything flips, offering a fresh perspective. Lojong Slogan #40, "Correct all wrongs with one intention," becomes clearer from this vantage point perhaps because the focus is to stay balanced.

I find this slogan reminds me that Compassion as our default isn't about feeling superior; it's about stripping away the armor around our hearts. As Pat mentioned, the five mental afflictions—attachment, aversion, fear, ignorance, and pride—manifest in everyday emotions like anxiety and anger. Instead of seeing these as obstacles, I see them as opportunities to deepen my practice.

In this inverted state, I reflect on how to bring compassion to the forefront of my responses. The intention always is that! Breathing steadily, I let the headstand guide me to clarity. Judy Lief’s words resonate: "When obstacles arise, they are abruptly brought short by the power of your intention."

Here, upside down, I find compassion guiding me back to stability with focusing on one intention.
