Slogan #14
Seeing Confusion as the Four Kayas is Unsurpassable Shunyata Protection
Reflection from Today’s 12 PM Hatha Flow Class
During my 12 PM Hatha flow class, I reflected on Slogan #14: "Seeing confusion as the four kayas is unsurpassable shunyata protection." This teaching suggested that confusion could become an opportunity for deeper understanding and protection.
The diverse group, aged 23 to 78, included several first-time practitioners, adding to the uncertainty. I noticed hesitations in trying new poses, confusion about alignment, and balancing strength with flexibility. The four kayas, representing different aspects of the enlightened state, helped us view these uncertainties as part of our path. Encouraging everyone to embrace their confusion, we welcomed it as part of our journey. This shift allowed us to release the need for all the answers and embrace the mystery of not knowing. A sense of relief and openness filled the room as we acknowledged confusion as a natural part of the practice.
In Savasana, I invited everyone to reflect on their experience with confusion. We learned to be present with it, trusting that clarity would come in its own time.
Reflecting on today’s class, I was reminded of the importance of patience and trust. The path to growth is a winding journey through various states of mind. By seeing confusion as part of the four kayas, we embraced the full spectrum of our experiences, each step leading to greater wisdom and compassion.
